# Workspace & Users

> Learn how CustomerOS organizes your company into workspaces and how users are automatically added.

## Workspaces in CustomerOS

When the first person from your company signs up to CustomerOS, a **workspace** is automatically created.\
This workspace acts as your company’s secure tenant — all of your data, integrations, and reports live inside it.

The workspace is tied to your company’s **email domain**.\
For example:

* If `alex@example.com` is the first to sign up, a workspace for `example.com` is created.
* All colleagues with an `@example.com` email address can then join that same workspace automatically.

***

## Users in a Workspace

### Automatic Access

* Any teammate signing in with the same company domain is routed into the existing workspace.
* No manual invites or setup required.

### Roles & Permissions

* The first user becomes the **workspace owner** by default.
* Additional colleagues join as **members**.
* Owners can later promote members to admin roles or manage permissions in **Settings → Users**.

## Benefits of Domain-Based Workspaces

* **Seamless onboarding**: Your whole team can access CustomerOS without chasing invites.
* **Single source of truth**: All leads, reports, and dashboards live in one shared tenant.
* **Security**: Only verified users with your domain can access your workspace.
